James Lyall Mount Wednesday July 7th 2021 avis de deces

James Lyall Mount Sr.
Dad graduated on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was predeceased by his buddy Mary in 2018. They shared 47 years together and he missed her every day. He was the proud father of Jim, Susan and Jennifer, grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 15.
Dad was not a demonstrative man but he loved his family deeply. He was raised on good old Christian values but like many, he strayed from the faith in his middle years. As he aged, he realized his mother raised him right and returned to his faith. In recent years, he shared his belief in Christ with those he cared about the most. Some thought him a kook but he didn’t care. He loved the Lord and wanted to share the good news with as many as possible.
He spent his final 19 days where he wanted to be the most. He was at home surrounded by the love of his daughters Susan and Jennifer, his son-in-law Art and his grandson Brock. He was safe, happy and at peace. He was proud of his team as we cared for and watched over him around the clock. We wanted more time with him but are so thankful for what we got. There is nothing more precious than watching a grandson gently and lovingly sponge bathe his frail and elderly grandfather. The mutual love and adoration shared by these two cannot be expressed in words, it can only be understood by the heart.
Dad was an extraordinarily generous man. Most knew nothing of this because he never bragged about it and believed that his right hand shouldn’t know what his left hand was doing. He didn’t buy lavish things for himself but he always gave lavishly to others. He would quietly pay a neighbour’s rent or assist them with money for food. If he found a wallet, he would put money in it before he returned it. Dad gave away his car because someone had need of it. He said he loved to help and it made him feel good. He believed the best of people, hated gossip and tried to keep on the sunny side. We already miss him so much. Well done thy good and faithful servant. Mission accomplished.
Dad gave to so many causes but his favourites were The Salvation Army, Brock Community Foodbank (Beaverton) and Living Truth. If so desired, memorial donations made to these causes would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences are welcomed at manganfuneralhome.com.
