James (Jim) Arthur Mitchell Jr. – passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at the age of 75. Jim enjoyed his life as a truck driver, which he did for many years.
Preceded in death by wife, Paula Mitchell, parents, brother, sisters, and step-son.
Survived by sons, Jessie (Sherrie) Asbury, William (Carol) Asbury, Curtis (Anna) Asbury, James Mitchell III (Patches), Michael (Patty) Mitchell, Charlie (Emily) Mitchell; daughter, Karen (Richard) Grooms; step-sons, Robert (Charlotte) Mills, Walter (Pam) Brock; step-daughter, Ginger Asbury; step-daughter in-law, Gail Mill; brothers, Kenny (Darlene) Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, Doug Mitchell; granddaughter, Kari (Cody) Shortt; and 23 other grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Gary Cowan officiating. Family will meet at Bridges Funeral Home on Wednesday to travel in procession to Union Cemetery, on Union School Road, Knoxville for a 1:00 PM interment.
