Isabelle Cody of Sydney passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 94.
Born in Hartland, NB, on January 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Hebrom and Margaret Orser.
Isabelle was known for her love of reading and was an avid fan of the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Among her many relatives is two-time Olympic silver medalist, Brian Orser, who should have won gold in 1984 (her words). Known for her keen fashion sense, she was always dressed for the occasion and quick to provide self-care tips to everyone she met.
Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Jo-Anne and son-in-law, Dr. Paul Murphy, of Sydney; grandchildren, Christopher, Paula and Linda; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Akira, Apollo, Elsie, Rio and Iris.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by her sister, Viva; half-sister, Mona; brothers, Raymond, Evard, Harry and Philip; and half-brother, Burden.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be no service.
