HOWARD, Donald John
December 21, 1956 – May 9, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald John Howard at the age of 64 on Sunday May 9, 2021. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family, and in the care of the thoughtful staff at the Rockyview General Hospital. He is survived by his brothers, Doug, and Dave (Shirley); children, Benjaman, Terri (Adam), and Drew; grandchildren Ainsley, and Aedan Don will also be deeply missed by The Nadeau & The Brand families as well as very many friends and former colleagues.
Born in Calgary AB to Jack and Elsa Howard, Don was known for his big heart, sense of humour, and a passion for helping others. This passion led him to pursue a career as a firefighter with the City of Calgary. During his 34 year career he rose through the ranks and served as District Chief before retiring. Serving the people of Calgary and his career with the fire department was what brought Don the most joy.
