Castle – Herbert Lee
July 30, 1946 – August 14, 2021
Herb (our dad, grandfather, brother and uncle) passed away in Edmonton at the age of 75 after a sudden illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Ashley, on January 10, 2021, and survived by his sons, Wylie (Shannon), Jamie (Jodie); grandsons, Declan and Connor, and first wife, Peggy. Through marriage to Ashley he is also survived by her son, Justin, his wife, Tineke, and their children, Mondena and Conner.
Herb was born in Prince Albert, SK on July 30, 1946, the second son of three boys to Dorothy and Herbert Castle. It is there that he began his long career in corrections, which also took him to Saskatoon, New Westminster, Edmonton and Yellowknife. He retired to Grande Cache, Alberta and embarked on a political career that began as a councillor and ended as the last Mayor of Grande Cache. Herb was a warm person who cared about people and his community. In his last years our dad was able to enjoy time with his family.
A joint celebration of life for Herb and Ashley will be held on October 2, 2021, at 10828 Stern Crescent from 1-4pm in Grande Cache.
