Obituary of Helena O’Neil
It is with deep sadness that the family of Helena O’Neil announces her passing on April 6, 2020 at Northland Pointe in her 88th year. Beloved wife and best friend to Jack O’Neil for 40 years. Mom we miss you so much, you taught your daughters Catharina (Kathie)(Mike) Blais, Yvonne (Harry) Brennan, Cindy Pearson (Steve) and Shelley Rielly (Wayne) how to be brave and strong no matter the challenges life gives us. You always said we can handle anything with prayers. We pray you are now without pain and you are with your sister Catharina (Toos)(Harry) DeGroot, your brothers Ad (Greet) Nijs and Joop Nijs, your parents Joseph and Maria Nijs. You are missed by your niece Marja (Fred) DeBrabander, special friend Laurie Lidden (Brian), your grandchildren Lenie (Shawn) Sliter, Ian Mercer and Cher (Donny) Olm, Eric (Jeni) Pearson and your great grandchildren Dillan and Ryleigh Sliter, Matthew and Jaxson Mercer, Evan and Kaylee Olm, Luke and Hana Pearson, great great grandchildren Aleeah and Bentley. Your sewing and crafting projects are in all of our homes as a reminder to your huge heart and hard working soul. You never gave up and rarely complained. We are sad you are not here but we understand your body got tired. Miss you with kisses from us all. The family would like to thank the staff at Northland Pointe for the care and kindness they showed to Helena and her family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held in the Armstrong Chapel.
