FREEDMAN, Harvey – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Freedman at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Miriam and dear brother and brother-in-law of Ruth Magder and Jerry Belz, Zane and Joan Cohen and the late Helen and Harry Mendelson. Harvey will be deeply missed by his children, Sherri, Karen and Alan and their spouses, Jeffrey Hoffman, Peter Spence and Michal Pomotov and, remembered forever by his five granddaughters and their partners, Emma (Matt Cavdar), Sara (Ryan Cohen), Rachel, Dalia and Norah. Harvey was an avid runner, cyclist, sailor, golfer, skier (and lover of all sports), a respected periodontist and a prolific painter after he retired. He will be remembered by countless friends, relatives and colleagues and those fortunate enough to have an original “Harvey Freedman” hanging on their wall. We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated medical staff at Toronto Rehab, Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and Sunnybrook for their incredible care and compassion over the past several years. We are also grateful for the kindness of wonderful caregivers Patricia, Romeo and Cecilia.
