Martin, Ernest Harry – Passed away peacefully on Friday September 24th, 2021, at Sakura House, Woodstock, in his 85th year. Devoted husband of Mary (née Hayes) for 56 years. Beloved father of Terry-Sue (Brad) Coventry, Tim Martin, Rob (Cindy Woodrow) Martin, and Andy (Julie) Martin. Cherished grandfather of Amy (Darryl) Bee, Shannon (Brandon) Morris, Duncan Martin, and Emma Martin. Proud great grandfather of Carter and Mason Morris. Dear brother of Len (late Lois), Don (Janet) and Bev (Bonnie) Martin. Survived by his sister-in-law Kathy Hayes. Predeceased by his brothers Gord and Wayne Martin. Harry was born and raised in Thamesford and dedicated many years of his life to his community; he was a volunteer firefighter with the Thamesford fire department for 30 years and was a past president of the Thamesford Lions club (1975-1976). He was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 for 47 years. Cremation has taken place and a private family service is being held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas Street W, Thamesford (519-285-2427). If desired, memorial contributions to the Thamesford Fire Department or VON Sakura House would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
