Clarke, Gordon Grant – (October 17, 1943 – May 29, 2021) ~ Gordon passed away at his farm on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Gordon is predeceased by his beloved parents John David Clarke and Gertrude Jean Clarke. He is the beloved husband of Viola Clarke (née Stephenson) for 50 years of marriage. Cherished father of Charles Clarke (Kathy), Elizabeth Brown (Forbes) and Leona (Tony Irving). He will never be forgotten by his one and only grandson Bud Brown “Andrew”. Remembered by two special lads who he cherished, Kevin and Josh. Dear brother of 4 sisters. Gordon is a family man – always putting his family before anything else. He loved his family unconditionally and never judged anyone, always wearing his heart on his sleeve. Besides his family, his only other passion in life was his farm and his cattle. Gordon farmed at the same place for the last 53 years. He took pride in his farm, his animals and his love of the land. He took pride in growing his crops for his animals, but he also took pride in growing the best gladiolus around. He loved handing out his glads to anyone that dropped in to visit. One of Gordon’s most favourite times of the year was the Lindsay Central Exhibition. He loved going to watch all of the cattle shows and visiting with anyone that would stop and chat. Gordon will be missed by his many extended family, his friends, his neighbours and his fellow farmers. Until we meet again – rest in peace. Visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Wednesday, June 2nd from 11:30 until 1:00p.m. A private family service will follow. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
