CARTER, Gordon David, 93, of Tavistock passed away peacefully with family by his side at PeopleCare Tavistock on Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born at East Wawanosh, Huron County, Ontario on May 9, 1928 a son of the late William & Viola (Wilson) Carter.
Gordon had farmed near Blyth prior to farming near Tavistock. He was member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tavistock. Gordon was predeceased by his first wife, Agnes Ann Marie (Marks) Carter (1967); his son, Ron Carter (2021); his daughter, Rose Mary Fidom (2003); brothers, Robert and wife Nancy Carter and James Carter; his sister, Mildred and husband Stewart Ament.
Gordon is survived by his second wife, Lois Marian (Cheslock) Carter; his son Lloyd Carter of Wingham; two daughters, Joyce Carter of Blyth, Annette Ward of Mitchell; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Burrs of Belgrave; his sister-in-law, Elsie Carter of Brussels; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will be received in Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Covid restrictions will apply at the funeral home. Please be patient. A graveside funeral service will be held at Blyth Union Cemetery, Blyth on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. Pastor William Kramer will officiate.
