Obituary of Gloria Gertrude Gaboury
On Monday November 29, 2021, Gloria passed away at the Welland County General Hospital, 90 years young. Mom leaves behind her beloved husband Jules (Bill) of 70 years. Predeceased by son Paul in 1977.
Mom will forever be missed by son Bruce (Denise), daughter Debbie (Trent), Denise’s children Danielle (Lance) and Michelle (Andrew) and grandchildren Lili and Lilah. Grandmother to Nicole (Ryan), Greg, Sarah (Justin), Kayla (John) and great grandchild Auzlyn. Survived by sister in law Maggie Horne. Mom will be missed by so many of our extended family and friends that are family.
Mom is predeceased by her parents Walter and Clarilda Horne, sister Leona Swartz, sister and brother in law Nancy and Eddie Burcsik, brother Butch Horne, as well as brothers and sisters in law Madeleine and Doug, Morris and Lilian, Philip and Rose, Charles and Isabel, Theresa and Charles, Jeanne and Pauline and Jimmy.
She perfected everything she did. Her greatest joy came from spending time and long talks with dad, family get together and making something special for anyone whose day she could brighten. We will forever have reminders of mom with our beautiful handmade ornaments, Christmas socks, seasonal painted décor, smocked dresses, quilts and needlework. Mom was little but mighty. We will so miss her spark and those blue eyes. Her one liners that left everyone laughing and yes mom “ It’s a good thing we’re all different”.
We would like to thank the 4th Floor West staff of WCGH. In particular Dr. S. Makar for your kindness and compassion over the years when treating mom. Thank you to Northland Pointe for making moms transition a smooth one, she made lovely friends and became close to many staff. Thank you as well to Ryan and staff at Armstrong Funeral Home for your care, patience and kindness.
At moms request there will be no visitation or services with funeral arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Port Colborne.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
