Glenn Allan Venaas
Glenn Venaas passed away peacefully on Thursday September 16, 2021 in the Red Deer Hospital at the age of 68 years. He was born in Moosomin, SK on December 26, 1952 moving to Midale in 1956 where he got his schooling and then started his banking career at the Midale Credit Union. After his marriage to Sandra Emde, he moved to Yellowknife, Camrose, Estevan, Oxbow, Caryle and finally settling in Olds where he retired.
Glenn was an athlete in his own way playing football, baseball, hockey and curling. He was also involved in the air cadets. Later in life he fell in love with Penelope – his blue Harley Davidson and loved to ride. He enjoyed travelling and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered. Glenn is survived by his partner Debbie Davis; daughter Tara (Steve); grandchildren Brooklyn, Camryn, Hayden, Cruise, Payton, August & Sienna; siblings Judy Venaas, John (Bea) Long, Ralph (Shari) Venaas, Meryle (Gail) Venaas, Norma Rosengren and Amber Venaas ,mother-in-law Gwen Emde along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman & Juanita Venaas and son Tyler Venaas, father-in-law Floyd Emde, nieces Patti Long and Joan Venaas. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Olds with Harold Hunter officiating. This is a Restricted Exemption service, vaccine cards or a negative rapid test is required. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation or the S.P.C.A.
