WAKEFIELD, Gladys Ruth (nee Hughey – Retired Kawartha Pineridge District School Board): At Peterborough Regional Health Centre with family by her side on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in her 72nd year. Gladys, beloved wife of and best friend of 47 years to John. Loving and inspirational mother of Megan Carrick (Mark) and cherished Nana of Brody, Avery, and Brynlee Carrick. Dear sister of Velma Tucker (Gord), Donna Stewart (Ken), Harvey Hughey (Renee), and predeceased by her sister Norma Hughey. Remembered lovingly by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Ernest Hughey and Helen Thompson. In keeping with Glad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will take place at a later date.
