Gladys’ Obituary
Langille, Gladys Pearl – Amherst and formerly of Tatamagouche. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Gladys Pearl (Green, Crawford) Langille, aged 95, at the Cumberland Regional Health Centre, Amherst, on November 13, 2021. Born in Fox Harbour on April 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Ina (Dean) Green. In her early years, she worked along side her husband in logging camps cooking for the crew, and later, moved to Wallace Station where they raised their family. In later years she was employed with East Cumberland Lodge in the dietary department. Upon her retirement, she moved to Tatamagouche where she later met Ron Langille. Her greatest ambition came from being a good mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren which she did with much love and care. Mom’s greatest joy was family gatherings and dinners, playing cards, knitting and crocheting…but always family first. She is survived by her daughter, Helen (Chester) Estabrooks, and their children, Beverley, Betty (Seigi) Mast, David and Tony; son, Boyd (Debbie) Crawford, and their children, Trevor Crawford (Kim Goldrich) and Stephanie (Matthew Smith). She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, Erica, Chadwick, Kelsey, Matthew, Jillian and Oliver; 4 great great-grandchildren, Isabella, Benjamin, Cooper and Kenzie; step-daughters, Betty Langille and Rhonda Langille; step-son, Carl (Sandra) Langille; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great step-grandchildren; very special sister, Anita MacKay and sister-in-law, Orlea Crawford. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lloyd Crawford, and second husband, Ronald Langille; son, Curtis Crawford; daughter, Edna Veno and her husband, Cameron Veno; sisters, Barbara Jacobs and Annie Jean, in infancy; step-sister, Jessie Hopkins; step-brothers, Lawson Green and William Green. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 27th in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, with interment in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. Memorial donations to Riverside Cemetery or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting the funeral home website at: www.mmcfunerals.com Proof of double vaccination and mask wearing will be required for the visitation period and funeral service.
