It is with great sadness that, we the family of Betty Giusti, regret to announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 5, 1946 in Sydney, Betty was the daughter of the late Arthur and Aletha (Dwyer) Farr.
Betty loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything else in this world. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, crocheting, baking, watching “Days of our Lives” and crime shows. She worked for many years at Penny’s Dry Cleaners.
Betty is survived by her children, George, Paula (Jimmy), Laura (Dave), Rick (Notaya), Johnny (Evie) and Robbie; sisters, Shirley (Wayne), Marie and Heather (Glen); brother, Gord (Julia); many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her extended family.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Trish; brothers, John, Tom, Roland, George and sisters, Mae, Sandra and Christine.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Betty Giusti will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Majors Corey and Charlene Vincent officiating. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks and social distancing protocols will be followed. Private family interment in Oakfield Cemetery, Marion Bridge will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
We, the family of Betty Giusti would like to send our deepest appreciation to Dr. Carol Critchley, who was more like family than her doctor, and all the doctors and nurses from 4B and Palliative Care who did all they could for our mother at her time of need.
