Giuseppe Joe Forte 1928 2021

Obituary of Giuseppe Forte
Surrounded by his loving daughters, our father passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021, in his 94th year, at Rapelje Lodge. He is reunited with Antonia (2018), the love of his life and wife of 60 years.
Loving father of Rosanna (Dan), Maria (Jim) and Joanne (Dino). Proud and caring Nonno to Megan (Nick), Michael (Adriana), Selina, Emma, Seth, Jessica (Conor), Mark, Eric (Andrea) and Julia. Bisnonno to Viviana and Benjamin.
Survived by siblings Clotilde Tamburri (Gaetano), Angelina Vacca (late Gino), Giovanni (Gaetana), Vittoria Ricci (Giacomo), Vincenzo (Marie), Mario (Mary) and sister-in-law Rosina Tamburri (late Liberantonio).
Predeceased by parents Nicola and Rosina, brother Antonio (Italia), sister Lucia Ricci (Pasquale), and in-laws Concetta Ricci (Giovanni), Suora Alfonsina (Domenica) and Cecilia.
Giuseppe was born in Indiprete, Isernia, Italy, lived through World War II and eventually served in the Italian army.
In 1959, when Rosanna was 8 months old, he travelled to Port Colborne to start a new life for his family. Three years later, he returned to Italy to accompany his wife and daughter back to Canada, the country that welcomed and afforded him the life he dreamt of for his family. Three years later, Maria was born followed by Giovanna (Joanne).
He worked at Robin Hood Multifoods Ltd., along with many “paesans” from the old country and many new friends, until retirement at age 65.
He was a person of faith, an active member of Saint John Bosco Parish, and a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. He made many friendships through shared values of the Catholic faith. He was also a member of Club Italia and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow Italians. He loved getting together with family and friends and hosted many gatherings at his home.
Giuseppe loved his garden, he was a master of everything, and enjoyed making wine, sausage and prosciutto. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, loving and caring for them equally. He would have enjoyed his great grandchildren if he had the ability to be an active part of their lives.
A heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Rapelje Lodge House 400 for their loving care for the last three and a half years, many of whom were with him from his first day. You were family to him and we will be forever grateful.
A gentle, kind and caring man whose smile lit up any room he entered! We will miss him ad infinitum.
Ti vogliamo tanto bene Papa. Riposa in pace.
