Giuliana Bollin, 88 years
Peacefully Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at The Walford.
Giuliana was born July 2nd, 1933, in Sarego Vicenza, Italy. While working as a nurse, in 1965 she married her true love Raul Bollin (predeceased) and immigrated to Canada. She left behind her loving parents Ernesto and Ernesta Brunello (both predeceased), bothers Danillo (Lugina) (both predeceased) and Gino (predeased), in order to start a new life for her family in Sudbury. She became a full-time wife, homemaker, and devoted mother to Mary Nunnery (husband James) and Larry Bollin (wife Susan). She was cherished by all her nieces and nephews but especially her grandchildren; Julia, Sarah, James, Siena and Dean, who thought she was the funniest, most warmhearted and loving Nonna they knew. Giuliana was a longtime member of the Caruso Club and would occasionally help out in the kitchen. There is where she realized her true calling, as Giuliana loved to cook for her family or anyone else that came to our home. Her specialty was homemade pasta, especially her lasagna (made from scratch) which no one could resist. Giuliana was a strong woman with a gentle heart and a warm smile that was inviting which made everyone love her even more. Wherever she went she would make friends as this was evident while living at the Walford Retirement Residence. Staff, Nurses and Residents all loved her and considered her the beacon that would always brighten up their day. Ultimately, it was her devotion to her family especially her beautiful grandchildren whose love kept her going through good times and bad. Giuliana was the heart and soul of her family’s life and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank all of their family and friends for the outpouring of love and generosity they have shown and especially the staff at The Walford. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Health Sciences North – Cardiac Medical Unit would be appreciated. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11am. (Friends may gather after 10am Monday. Facemasks and social distancing are mandatory).
