Harold Gilvey Hillier passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday November 24th, 2021 from Oshawa, ON surrounded by his family.
Gilvey was born on June 4th, 1948 in Botwood, NL to Rita Allix (mother) and raised by his grandparents Max and Olive Hillier.
Gilvey is predeceased by his mother Rita Allix, grandparents Max and Olive Hillier, brothers Alan and Roy, sisters Alma (Cletus) Alexander, Beverley Allix, and in-laws Tobias (Anna) Parsons, Dennis, Joyce, Alan, Boyde, and Rodney.
Left to mourn Gilvey is his wife, Kathrine Hillier, daughters Loretta (Randy) Hillier, Jennifer Hillier, and Anna (Clifford) Wheatcroft, grandchildren Josh, Sean, Katie, Zoe, and William and great-grandchild Xavier, brother Donald Rex (Debbie) Hillier, sisters Donna (Wayne) Moore, Laura (Thane) MacKenzie, and in-laws Judy Hillier, Mary Hillier, Minnie (Everett), Doreen (Sam), Keith (Shirley), and Alvina (Carm).
Gilvey will always be remembered for his sense of humor, bright smile, and joyful nature. He was always willing to lend a hand and his heart.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Due to COVID19 restrictions, registration is required to attend the visitation and service.
