Obituary of Gertrude Elizabeth Henry
The passing of Gertrude Elizabeth Henry of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Leland Clifford Henry, occurred on June 8, 2021 at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton. Born on July 9, 1923 in Barony, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Rosborough and Ida (Simmons) Rosborough. Gertrude was a clerk at Devon Pharmacy before retirement. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church, Barkers Point and Nashwaaksis Seniors Clubs, volunteer for Meals on Wheels and lifetime member of Lower St. Mary’s Women’s Institute.
Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Jean Henry of Fredericton; sons, Ronald Henry (Dianne) of Calgary, Lorne Henry (Lanna) of New Maryland, Gerald Henry (Ruth) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Lisa Henry (Mike), Brent Henry (Stephanie), Justin Henry and Eric Henry (Vanessa); several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Laura Joslin.
Due to current restrictions, the family is planning to hold services at a later date to be announced. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Pine Grove Foundation, Gibson Memorial United Church or donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
