Gerald Gerry Spratt 2021

Obituary for
Gerald “Gerry” Spratt
Gerald “Gerry” Norman Spratt of Edmonton, AB passed away on October 17, 2021 at the age of 82 years.
He was born in Davidson, SK but spent most of his life in the Edmonton area. His life was a testimony to the grace of God.
Over the course of his life, Gerald worked in a number of careers. In the early years he worked as an ambulance attendant for Smith’s Ambulance, followed by many years working as an electronic service technologist for the Alberta Research Council.
Gerald also worked for 33 years as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer for the Alberta Government until his retirement in 1993. Not one to slow down, Gerald formed a successful general contracting company, Quail Enterprises, following his “retirement” serving both commercial and residential clients for many years.
Outside of work Gerald was heavily involved in many Christian ministries and organizations, most notably the Gideons. Gerald endeavoured to impact the lives of those he came in contact with the Gospel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen of 62 years; sons, Kenton (Sheryl), Lance (Chandra); daughters, Shannon (Wayne), Sherry; grandchildren, Carson (Ellie), Amy, Caleb, Rachel-Ann (Darren), Micaiah, Joseph, Serina (Robert), Desiree; many great-children; brother and Randy (Donna).
Gerald is pre-deceased by his parents, Norman and Helen; and brother Ralph (Eva).
We will miss our beloved husband, father, and grandfather who gave so much to us all, and we give thanks to God for the gift he was to our family.
We extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Misericordia Community Hospital Ward 5-West for their care and attention shown to Dad during his time in the hospital.

  1. Gerry & Eileen we have so many fond memories of our times with you at Wilderness Village. We think of you often and pass on our condolences to all of the family.

  2. Hey Spratts:
    Just heard about my friend.
Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal
Love leaves a memory that no one can steal.

In one brief moment all will be as it was
And how we shall laugh at the trouble of parting
    WHEN WE MEET AGAIN.

He influenced my life and I will miss him.

    Ken
