Gerald Bernard Daigle
1936 – 2021
St-Thomas, NB – Gérald Bernard Daigle, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton.
Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Vital and the late Eva Daigle (Arsenault).
Gerald will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Stella Ann (Hachey); his children: Jacques (Theresa) of St-Thomas, Luc (Jo-Ann) of Australia and Camilla (Juan) of Montreal; his grandchildren: Pearl, Rufus, Isabela and Mateo; his brother: Léo Daigle (Karen) of Saint John; as well as several nieces, nephews, his extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Jean-Paul and Francis.
Prior to his retirement, Gerald worked in sales with Imperial Tobacco, Imperial Oil and Vachon. He still liked to keep busy after retirement by working at Coastal Inn in Dieppe and at the “vieux presbytère” in Bouctouche. Gérald was a social butterfly, he would go to Tim Hortons almost every day to meet his friends. He enjoyed his breakfast get togethers, spending time at the wharf, the beach, the cottage, eating lobster and driving his lawn tractor. He and Nan enjoyed traveling, especially to go visit their son Luc in Australia.
Due to new Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation and funeral service. There will be a celebration of life with family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
