Obituary of George Kenneth Stevenson
“Life is a walk in God’s Garden. Some linger for a long time and some a short time. So, stop and smell the roses; and in my case, smell the lilies.” – George
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. On November 30, 2021, George Kenneth Stevenson, 84 of Garland’s Crossing, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
George was the owner and operator of Belmont Drywall until his retirement. He enjoyed taking ATV trips and discovering things. Whether it was digging around old basements or beachcombing for fossils, he was always interested in history. George loved painting landscapes and woodworking as his hobbies. And he treasured the time spent bowling with the gang from The Crossing.
“We will definitely miss his sense of humor, which he never lost. As well as the fresh bread, rolls, doughnuts, and cookies that he loved to bake.”
He is survived by his adoring wife of 59-years, Gloria Ruth (Benedict) Stevenson; daughters, Paula (Les Jarvis) Stevenson, Michelle (Craig) Bauchman, and Virginia (Glenn) Deering; grandchildren, Brittany Stevenson, Mackenzie (Breanna) Bauchman, Jordan Bauchman, and Lincoln Deering.
A special thank you to Amber Phillips and the VON for all your help, kindness, and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will take place Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Belmont Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Silas Church-Belmont Cemetery, C/) Sylvia Sanford, 1192 Belmont, NS, B0N 2A0.
