George Takeda 19232021

George Takeda
1923-2021
Takeda, George
BSc(Eng)
Husband, father, brother, grandfather,
and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 12th 2021 in
his 99th year of life.
George is survived by his wife of 69
years, Aiko (nee Nakamoto); his children, Bob, Wendy (Al) and Randy
(Karen); his 8 grandchildren Tianna, Tyler, Nathan (2007), Leah, Rob,
Jordan, Josh and Joey; and his 12
great-grandchildren.
Born in Coghlan British Columbia, George
moved to Ontario to attend the University of Toronto to receive his
Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering. His long-standing career
as a Professional Electrical Engineer at Canadian General Electric
brought him to Guelph where he and Aiko raised their three children.
Besides his family, his loves included playing golf at his club Vic
East (where holes-in-one cost him a few rounds at the clubhouse),
curling, and watching the Toronto Blue Jays or Maple
Leafs.
Having been often described as a
gentleman, he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and
integrity. He will be missed.
On behalf of George’s family
and loved ones, thank you to Barnswallow Place Care Community and
especially the staff on Pheasant Run for their exceptional
care.
George’s wishes were for cremation and a private
funeral. A celebration of life is to follow in the summer of 2022.
Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be
appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to
GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre
& Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph,
(519-824-0031). We invite you to
leave your memories and donations online at: www.gilchristchapel.com
and they will be forwarded to the family.
