It is with deep sadness that the family of the late GEORGE G. HILLIER of Point Au Gaul announces his passing. George passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 at the age of 87.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his daughters, Carol Ann Hillier of Clarenville, Thelma Hillier (John) of Etobicoke, ON, and Wanda Hillier – Anderson (Gary) of Fort McMurray, AB; sons, Terry Hillier of Keswick, ON, Barry Hillier (Donna) of Mississauga, ON, Jeff Hillier (Nicole) of Milton, ON, and Ivan Hillier (Kathy) of Ajax, ON; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Hillier, Chantelle Swimm, Brandon Hillier, Kayla Hillier, Victoria Hillier, Bradley Hillier, Zach Hillier, Kyle Anderson, Andrew Hillier and Joshua Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Elijah and Malachi; sister, Joan Snook (Bruce); brothers, Clarence Hillier, Hubert Hillier, Leslie Hillier (Carmelita), and Freeman Hillier (Christine); plus a large number of family and friends.
George was predeceased by his wife, Dora Hillier; daughter, Evelyn Hillier; parents, Cyril & Annie Hillier; and brothers, John, Norman and Clifford Hillier.
The Hillier Family will be accepting visitors at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Lamaline on Tuesday, October 26th from 3pm to 9pm; and Wednesday, October 27th 10am to 5pm with a family service being held at 7pm.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation. When entering the church you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the church and masks are required.
Funeral Service will take place at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Lamaline on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Interment to follow at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Cemetery, Lamaline.
In George’s memory in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church – Lamaline, C/O P.O. Box 490 Fortune, NL A0E 1P0.
