Obituary of Gary Dale Cameron
We walked Dad all the way home on December 28th, 2021 after a lengthy twelve-year battle with cancer. We are thankful that he is now at rest and is no longer suffering. We will miss him terribly and will feel his absence for the rest of our lives.
We are so thankful and grateful that we were able to take him on his final journey and surround him with our love and comfort. Unlike so many others who are affected by cancer we were lucky to have had twelve years to make more memories and for him to meet and watch all of his beloved grandchildren grow.
Dad worked at a few places in his life, Ben’s Service Station, Sackville Tribune Post and Moloney Electric to name a few. Dad finished his career at Moloney Electric where he was referred to as “Grinny” and retired only to be diagnosed with cancer three months after. Dad had many hobbies including refinishing old furniture, woodworking, fishing, hunting but most of all he loved his spot on the bank of the mighty Fundy.
Dad was well known for his kind, easy-going personality and gentle demeanor. He enjoyed helping others over the years with repairs and tasks and missed being physically able to continue doing these things. Dad was loved by so many wonderful friends that his extended family was always growing. His absence too will be felt by all of you, but we hope that you can take peace in knowing that Dad’s suffering has ended peacefully.
Dad was pre-deceased by his parents, Eugene Cameron and Eileen (Murray) Cameron; his brother, Murray Cameron, as well as by several aunts, uncles, many dear friends and family members.
Dad is survived by his three daughters, Crystal, Rebecca (Jason Cochrane) and Jillian; his grandchildren, Zoe, Ava, Gil, Chad, Grayson, Jaidah and Jorja; his sisters, Margaret (Charlie) Beal, Shirley (Mike) Monahan and Cora (Richard) Raymond; his nieces and nephews, with special mention of Travis who was more like a son to Dad.
We have entrusted his care to Campbell’s Funeral Home. In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a private burial at the Sackville Cemetery in the spring of 2022. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
In lieu of charitable donations, take an enjoyable moment and think of Dad, in his memory. Dad did not want those who loved him to be consumed with grief so we hope that you can find peace.
Lastly, we have Dad’s army of doctors, healthcare professionals and assistants who made his last twelve years possible: Dad’s number 1, Dr. Linda Leblanc who guided us from start to finish, Dr. Sitland, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Premier, Dr. Gerrard MacDonald, Dr. Chiasson, Dr. Abdelsalam, Dr. Juravsky, Dr. Burrell, Dr. Sasha Cormier, Extra-mural Tantramar, Palliative Care Team Tantramar and all associated staff, with special mention to Haidee who guided us on Dad’s final journey. We have to thank our friend Erin Campbell and her staff for their guidance and compassion to us at this difficult time. Also Andrea Cormier who captured beautiful photographs that we will treasure forever. We thank all those who loved our father and filled his life with joy.
Dad, we will love you forever and miss you every day.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gary
