Gary Alexander Cameron
November 14, 2021
Gary Alexander Cameron, 72 passed away peacefully November 14, 2021 at Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton he was the son of the late Ann (Cookie) MacIntyre and Ralph Cameron.
Gary was a dedicated employee of the Shaw Group for 37 years, retiring as Credit Manager in 2014.
Gary will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a quiet and kind man who always put his family first and was so proud of his two boys. Gary loved all sports; he was a feisty competitor in his younger years and later he was his son’s # 1 fan.
Nothing made “Gramps” happier than spending quality time with his grandson Blake. They were always playing with cars and trucks, which was their favorite topic. They loved having sleepovers and always had so much fun together.
Sadly, Gary never met his newborn granddaughter Makenzie Ann in person. He did see her beautiful pictures and they always brought a smile to his face and a tear to his eyes.
Gary will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years Donna (Bruce), his son Blair (Clarissa), grandson Blake, son Bruce (Allyson), granddaughter Makenzie, sister Zeta (Norm), sister-in-law Lorraine (Ed) Pickett and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank (Willena) and Ray (Lorraine).
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Eastern Passage on November 19th at 10 AM. Reception to follow at the Lions Club in Eastern Passage. Proof of vaccinations, ID, and masks are required. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.
A very sincere thank you to Dr. Brenna, Vantol, Dr. Mary Cameron and the staff of 4 West for the excellent care, kindness and compassion to Gary and his family over the past four months.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or Hope for Wildlife.
