Garnet Walter Stanzel
1937-2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Garnet, beloved husband, father, father-In-law, grandfather, and friend. He went peacefully surrounded by his family, at the Carleton Queensway Hospital, ICU unit on Monday, December 20, 2021.
Predeceased by his parents Walter and Etheleen Stanzel (nee Bennett). Also pre-deceased by his brother Bob Stanzel (Anne). Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years Wilma (nee Wellstood), his sons Allan (Debbie), Mark (Deena). His brother Don (Barb). His beloved grandchildren, Emily (Jonathan), Kaitlyn, and Stephen as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his good friend and fellow colleague Arto.
Garnet was not a man of many words however, he loved his family fiercely, and throughout his life enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed local car shows and was proud of his 1948 Chev Stylemaster.
At his request there will be no funeral, only a private family Interment in the spring at the United Cemetery. Donations can be made in memory of Garnet, to the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation.

    Garnet was such a lovely man and great neighbour. I will miss waiving to him on my walks each day. He was a dog lover that is for sure! Garnet will be greatly missed by many. You are in our thoughts & prayers Wilma. Sincerely, Natalie & Scott
