Freeman Benjamin George King Friday November 5th 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful father. Freeman died peacefully at
the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital after a brief illness. Freeman was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63
years, Evelyn Harriet King. Freeman and Evelyn not only enjoyed their many family gatherings but their
numerous travels through the years, cottage life and music. Freeman was the proud father of three
children, Fred (Susan), Debbie (Paul) and Randy (Laurie). He is fondly remembered by his adored
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Freeman moved from his home town of Bishop’s Falls
Newfoundland to Ontario in 1950 to find work, eventually settling in Hespeler. Together, Freeman and
Evelyn built and successfully operated Cambridge Fuels Ltd for over 25 years. Freeman and the King
family were so grateful for the fellowship of the St. Luke’s United Church family in Cambridge for many
years. Freeman is survived by many caring family members, great friends and business colleagues.
Special thanks to the staff at Seasons Retirement Community in St. Thomas. A private family memorial
service will be held at Lounsbury Funeral Home at a later date. If desired a donation in Freeman’s name
can be made to a charity of your choice or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Should you desire to send a
card to a family member, please send to Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd. Cambridge,
N3C 1N8.
