GALE: Frederick Albert “Poppa” –
A resident of Chatham, Fred “Poppa” Gale passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with family at his side on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the age of 86.
Born in Alton, Southampton, England, Fred was the son of the late Arthur and Blanche (Cooper) Gale.
Beloved husband to the late Ann (nee Hickman) (2017).
Loving father of Wayne Gale (DeeAnn), Tim Gale (Kerry) and Jason Gale (Barb).
Proud Poppa to Dakota (Sammie), Shelby (Chelsea), Mitchell (Caleigh), Holley, Ray Lynn, Cory, Wyatt and Samantha. Great-Grandpa to Tobias, Hayden, Riley and Hayley.
Dear brother to Gladys. Predeceased by his siblings Cathy, Vira and Marg.
Fred was a father-figure and friend to many, resulting in the nickname Poppa. He loved riding on his Triumph motorcycle and camping with his wife, Ann. Later in life he would enjoy rides on his trike. He will be loved and missed by many.
As per Fred’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
