Frederick Norman ‘Freddy’ Buffett

It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick ‘Freddy’ Buffett announce his passing on November 2, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in New Waterford, on December 15, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Eliza (Barber) Buffett.
Freddy had a passion for horses and was a long-time member of the Cape Breton Horsemen’s Association. He was also involved, and supported the local boxing community, and was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club.
Freddy is survived by his sister Gloria; nieces Darlene, Tracy, Karen, Leeann; nephews Norman, Billy, Kenny, Jory; close friends Dianne and Paul, as well as many other dear friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Issy, Mary, Minnie, Lillian; brothers Bill, Max, Ben, Earl.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a graveside committal service that will be held on Tuesday, November 9, at 1:30pm, in All Saints Cemetery in New Waterford, with Rev. Dorothy Miller officiating. A reception will follow at #369 14th Street, New Waterford.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
