Fred Marshall Taylor
1942-2021
Fred Marshall Taylor – 78, Truro. It is with great
sadness that we announce that Fred Marshall Taylor, lifetime resident
of Truro, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 27,
2021. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Fred and Eva (Fields)
Taylor.
“Marshall”, as he was known to most, had
trucking in his blood from a young age. Managing his own trucking
company, FM Taylor Trucking Ltd from 1965 to 1987, he later
worked as an independent trucker throughout North America for another
20+ years. He always had a tale or two to tell of his
travels. Marshall was a 40 year member of Truro Gyro Club, a member of
Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners & Operators Association as well as
Truckers Association of Nova Scotia. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, reminiscing with friends and working on his
woodlot.
Marshall will be greatly missed by his son, Dale (Heather
Kaye); daughter, June (Bill) Ross; granddaughters, Cassandra
Taylor, Sonia (Josh) Thompson, Kirby Ross; grandson, Morgan
Ross; great-grandchildren, Ezra and Rowan
Thompson; sisters, Cytheria Thorne, Connie Taylor, Susan
Simpson; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was
predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Lewis.
A special thanks to cousin and great friend, Burt Chapman for
all his help and support.
A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be held at a
future date. If so desired, donations in Marshall’s memory Watson
Cemetery are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
