Frances’ Obituary
ATKINSON, FRANCES JEAN 1941 – 2021
It is with heavy heart that the family announces the sudden passing of Frances Jean Atkinson (Ilnicki) at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Sunday September 19th, 2021. She was one of ten children born of Peter and Evelyn (Boreski), Ilnicke of Windsor, Ontario.
Frances had a long list of new and old friends from around the globe brought into her “family fold” through her sense of responsibility and compassion for others. Their home was open for all finding comfort, cheer, shelter and nourishment.
Frances studied at the Grace Hospital to be a Registered Nurse graduating in 1963 in Windsor, Ontario. In 1989 Bruce and Frances bought the Home Hardware store in Lockeport, Nova Scotia and Frances worked there for many years.
Frances is survived by her wonderful husband, Bruce whom she was married to for 54 years, sons; David (Patricia Vivian), Michael (Lesley McCoy), grandchildren; Stephanie, Nicole, Joseph, Rylan, Kieran as well as sister, Jean (Rick Rydka) and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters; Pearl, Helen, Lillian, Edna, Mary Ann, Janet and brothers; Joseph and Edward (Eddie).
In keeping with Frances’ wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home. A private family graveside will take place in the Lockeport cemetery at a later date. Donations in her name can be made to a Charity of Choice. On-Line condolences for the family may be left at www.huskilson.net
