Florence Crawford Edwards Wednesday November 24th 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence Jennie May Crawford (nee Edwards) announces her passing on November 24, 2021. Born July 25, 1936, to the late Arthur and Mary Edwards, of Whitby. Survived by son Scott Edwards (Colleen Gallant) of Dunsford, daughter Anne Clarke (Dave Scott) of Peterborough, sister’s Rose Fudge of Whitby, Linda Halton (late David Halton) of Whitby, and George (Jean) Edwards of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by husband Albert Crawford, sisters Marjory and Rebecca Edwards, Joan Carter (Ken) of Owen Sound, Ruth Austin of Oshawa, brothers Herbert Edwards (Ruth) of Whitby, and Joseph Edwards (May) of Brighton. Stepmother to Joanne Smith (John) of Oshawa, Ted Crawford (Judy), and the late John Crawford of Brampton (Linda). Honorary ‘Mom’ to Joelle Taylor (Scott) of Newmarket, and Leslie Dusty (Doug) of Greenbank. She will be especially missed by granddaughter, Taylor Clarke of Peterborough.
Florence was a long-time member of the Easter Rebekah lodge in Dunbarton. She was a former employee at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital, and worked many years for Russo Building Supplies, and then Stroud’s Markets before retiring. She was an avid reader, loved gameshows, cross stitch, knitting, and painting. She will be missed by her aunts and uncle, her many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren, and friends, especially the ladies at Beatrice Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto in Florence’s name. A celebration of life will take place in the new year, at a time to be determined.
