With terribly heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fay Rose Allen (née Tierney) on December 23, 2021, at 86 years of age. With her daughter Nicole holding her hand, son Terry and those near and dear to her at her bedside via Facetime, she drew her last breath and left us with her love.
Fay was predeceased by her husband Ronald James (Ron) in 1993, her sisters June and Doreen, and her brother Delmar. She is lovingly remembered by her children Terry (Katie) and Nicole (Millo), her six grandchildren Tiffany (Kevin), Megan, Rachel, Alison, Sarah, Michael and four great-grandchildren Nolan, Anslee Rose, Beckham and Bradley, sisters Beverly, Doris and Judy.
Mom will be remembered for the many ways she showed her love to us, for her generosity and her sense of humour. The grandchildren reflected that Nana would be remembered for her laugh, for being full of life, for her sweet and spicy ways, being feisty, the best birthday cards, bold lipstick, cocktails, special visits with her when she was living in Tsawwassen, B.C., playing on the beach, shopping and sharing meals together in her favourite restaurants, her high kicks and her sweetest smile. Remember always that Nana loved and cherished each of you.
There are so many people to share gratitude with at this time. Thank you to our family and friends who have supported each of us and reached out to mom as she journeyed through these last years, especially my dear chosen sister Nadia. For the doctors, nurses, PSWs and other support staff at the TBRHSC, 4 and 5 South at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the TCU and finally, all of those who showed mom love in her last days as a part of the “Family of Sandpipers” at Pinewood Court. Remember that Mom left this world knowing your love and how you cared for her. Thank you.
Cremation has taken place, and when restrictions allow, the family will have a private service.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Fay’s memory to the Alzheimer Society, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
