Obituary
James (Jim) passed away at the Age Care Mindapore in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 81 years old.
He will be missed by his surviving wife Barbara (Blair) McGaffey. Jim was born in Chatham, Ontario, the son of the late Harry McGaffey (1998), loving mother Edna May McGaffey (2006), loving father of daughter Melody Jones and husband Ken of Nanton, the late daughter Diana (McGaffey) Moons and husband Didier Moons of Glencoe, son Patrick McGaffey and wife Michelle of Okotoks, Jay McGaffey and wife Casandra of Chathum and Mike McGaffey and wife Linda of Nanton, loving Grandfather of 15 and Great Grandfather to numerous.
Dear brother of the late William McGaffey and wife Joy of Dresden Ontario, Sally McGlashan of Chathum, Ontario, Pat Franklin and late husband Arthur of Bracebridge, Ontario, late Dan McGaffey and wife Mary Jane of Chathum, Ontario, JoAnn Atkinson and late husband Brian of Chathum, Ontario and Karin Nielson and late husband Rolf of Edmonton, Alberta.
Jim loved country music, where he promoted it with Jamboree’s in Ontario, Jim also played drums in a few bands, and doing what he liked to do best, clowning around and being on stage performing his Dirty Ernie skits at country music venues.
