Obituary of Eunice (Wilkinson) Young, Glace Bay
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Young, age 90 of Glace Bay on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Binder) Wilkinson.
Eunice enjoyed yoga and was also an avid reader, master knitter and long time CWL member at St. John’s Church, No. 2, Glace Bay. She will be remembered as a very strong, compassionate and independent lady who loved her family, neighborhood and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Connie), Glace Bay, brother, Raymond Wilkinson (Josephine), N.L, sister, Barb Conron, N.S, grandchildren, Nicole Young (Mike), Ohio, Jamison Young (Elizabeth), Ont., Aurora Mummery (Steve), Alt., Kevin Young (Sarah), B.C., Jennifer Law, Ohio, Alexander Young, Az., five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her daughter in law, Lisa who was married to Eunice’s son Richard who passed away.
Besides her parents, Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Albert Young in 2014, son, Richard Young, daughter in law, Dorothy Young, sister, Gloria Kelly and her brother, Earl “Junior” Wilkinson.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A graveside burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Glace Bay with Fr. Duaine Devereaux presiding.
