Eula Roberta Hopper
1932-2021
Hopper, Eula Roberta – age 89 years of Murphy
Lake. It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden but peaceful
passing of our beloved family matriarch while surrounded by the love
of her family in the Valley Regional Hospital on Friday, December 17,
2021. Born in Sweets Corner, on March 13, 1932; she was a daughter to
the late James and Myrtle (Dearman)
Cochrane.
Eula worked as a maternity nurse at the
Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital for 39 years, until retirement. She
was a sports enthusiast, being a high school jock herself, she enjoyed
participating in bowling and curling. She was also a proud member of
the Kentville Lion’s Club, volunteering for many great
causes. She had a great love for her two dogs, Tiny and Tim, who were
always close to her side.
Left to grieve with many fond and loving
memories are her children, Wally (Sylvia) Hopper, Kentville; Kym
Hopper (Greg Dolphin), Calgary; Cathy Curry (John), Hortonville;
cherished grandchildren, Jim (Ashley), Meaghan, Robyn (Emily), Dakota
(Krystal), Cody (Emily); adored great grandchildren, Brielle,
Brantley, Boden, Avery; sister, Patricia Ward; sisters-in-law, Dolly
Poole and Rolina Cochrane; also by many nieces, nephews and special
friends whom she considered extended
family.
Predeceased by the love of her life, George in
2000; sister, Barbara; brother, Harley “LeRoy”;
sisters-in-law, Kaye Copeland and Hilda
McGlone.
We would like to send our most heartfelt and
sincere thank you to all the first responders that were on scene –
RCMP, EHS, multiple fire departments, the numerous medical
professionals in the Valley Regional ER department that cared for mom,
especially respiratory therapist Bailey, ER nurse Adrienne and Dr.
Ryan Leigh for providing such special care, compassion, and
reassurance for all of our family at such a difficult and
heartbreaking time. Your kindness will not be
forgotten.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken
place and private family service will be held in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. Friends and extended family are invited to
watch the service via livestream at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21,
2021.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be
made to the MS Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
