Eugene’s Obituary
RYAN, Eugene – age 48, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, in Port Hawkesbury. Born May 5, 1973 in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Gary MacDonald and Jessie d’Entremont. Eugene was an engineer; he owned his own business Dancing Bear Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed sports, he was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Green Bay Packers, he also played hockey and was a good goalie. He enjoyed traveling, he spent a lot of time in Nunavut for work and Cape Breton and Yarmouth to spend time with family. He loved Cuba; he would spend as much time as he could there with his partner Yoli Santos (Ernesto). He was great with children, he loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his siblings Shane (Kelly) Ryan, Donavon Kennedy (Tracy MacDonald), Velvet Kennedy, Justin (Marie) Kennedy, Marie MacDonald (James Lewis) Atlanta; John MacDonald Queensville; Sarah MacDonald Port Hawkesbury; Jessie MacDonald Port Hawkesbury; Gary Macdonald Queensville; Cassie Macdonald Manitoba; Maggie MacDonald Queensville; and Kathleen Macdonald Post Hawkesbury. Nieces and nephews Rory, Abigail, Ethan, Ian, Gabriel, Zachary, Isabella, Calum, Fynnlee, Zoe, Paige, Bryce; Renae (stinky #1), Breanna (stinky #2), Shaila (stinky #3) and Hadley (stinky #4) and he would refer to them as the 4 stinckys. Great nephew Denver. Aside from his parents he was pre-deceased by nephew Xavier Muise. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. As per Eugene’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the IWK.
