Eric William Steeves
1948-2021
Eric William Steeves, 72, of
Hillsborough passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2021 at the Moncton
Hospital with his loving family by his
side.
Eric was born in Moncton on
July 24,1948 the son of the late Hazen and Hilda (Payne)
Steeves.
Eric had a passion for cars,
especially antique cars. He enjoyed working on vehicles doing auto
paint and body shop work. He last worked for R.K.Buzzell Ltd. in
Moncton and retired after 20 years of service in 2010. He was a
founding member of the Hillsborough Cruisers and was always glad when
he could take his ’54 truck out for a ride and show it off. He and his
family enjoyed the summers camping at the Silver Sands Campground
where they made many friends over the years. Eric was well known in
his community and could be found sitting with the coffee club crew at
the Irving. He was an avid fan of the Moncton Wildcats and enjoyed
going to the games. He was a member of the Hillsborough Baptist
Church. He loved working in his garage and his door was always open to
all his friends where they gathered and had a lot of great times. Eric
was a real people person and enjoyed talking with everyone. When Covid
hit it was hard on him as he was such an outgoing person who wanted to
be around his friends and family. He felt blessed to have his wife and
boys to support him. Eric will be remembered for his great smile and
always putting the needs of others before his own. He was a very
special man who will live on in the hearts of all those that knew him.
“Gone but never forgotten”
He will be deeply missed by
his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Jonah) Steeves and his boys, Owen
Steeves and Neil Steeves, all of Hillsborough; sister, Meta Cudmore

of Weldon. He will also be missed by all his extended family, several
nieces, nephews and many friends.

public visitation. A private Funeral Service will be held at the
Albert County Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grey’s Island
Cemetery, Hillsborough in the spring.
