Obituary
Our wonderful daughter Emily Terri Frizzle passed away suddenly on Friday April 16, 2021 at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary at the age of 14. Emily was born on September 29, 2006 in Longueuil, Quebec at the Pierre Boucher hospital. She suffered an unexpected brain bleed caused by arteriovenous malformation. This was a medical issue that went undetected until this tragic event. Our sincere thank you goes out to the tremendous staff in the Pediatric ICU. They were so thoughtful, caring and compassionate towards Emily and our family and friends.
Emily was well known amongst her family and friends for her kindness, determination, sense of humour, love for games of all sorts, and passion for basketball. She stood out in the Rundle school community as a caring friend, showing resilience and courage in the face of challenges that came her way. She was a funny, curious, caring person who always had a smile on her face and was always game to try something new and adventurous whether at home or on vacation with her family. Her desire to try surfing, ziplining, wakeboarding, parasailing and trapeze was impressive.
Emily had the ability to plan numerous social events in one day to see as many friends as possible. She was blessed to have so many great friends, who she loved to hang out with, be silly and laugh together. She had such a special bond with her friends and will be dearly missed.
Emily adored her big sister, Caitlyn, and loved to hang out with her and her friends. She loved sharing (or taking) clothes, taking pictures with her sister, and of course asking her lots of questions.
Emily is survived by her mom, Isabelle, dad, Chad, and big sister Caitlyn; grandparents Denise and Urgel Choquette; Beverly and Geraldine Frizzle, aunts and uncles Martin, Alexandra, Terri, Pat, Kyle, and Josette; and cousins Brooklyn, Jesse, Justin, Taylor, Emma, Katherine, and Mathieu.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up in Emily’s honour at Rundle Academy for anyone wishing to make a donation. Our wish is for other families to be able to have the same life-changing educational experience Emily was able to have as part of the Rundle Academy community.
A private Funeral Service will be held at Evan J Strong Funeral Services on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 11:00 am. Livestream of the service will be available through the link below. A public visitation will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
