NUCCI (Mellon), Elizabeth (Betty)
Passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021 at the age of 90. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dr. Connie Nucci, cherished daughters Susan (Kevin Lunney) and Andrea (Steve Landry) and beloved grandson Joseph Lunney.
A graduate of Marianopolis College in 1951 with a B.A. Degree, Betty obtained a B.Ed. degree from the University of Montreal in 1953. She was a born teacher who was close to her students and very much appreciated by them. Later, from 1971 to 1975, she returned as a student to the department of Counselling Psychology at McGill University and obtained an M.Ed. degree, after which she became a consultant in pre-retirement counselling, giving seminars to corporate executives.
Taking care of family was Betty’s highest value. Her commitment to her own parents and siblings was exceptional and unwavering. She was always a devoted wife and mother and delighted in her only grandson. Betty was proud of her Irish and Scottish heritage and maintained close ties to her beloved family abroad. Betty’s genuine interest in people garnered her long-lasting and deep friendships. She particularly enjoyed her condominium community and was a good friend to many of her neighbours for 36 years.
Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends as she played a pivotal role in their lives.
Visitation at Kane and Fetterly, 5301 Decarie Blvd, Montreal, Quebec on Monday August 23, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a celebration of Betty’s life from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will occur at 1:00 pm at Notre Dame Cote des Neiges cemetery. Valet parking will be available
