Eileen May Budge 2021

Obituary of Eileen May Budge
In God’s perfect timing, Eileen May Budge (nee Prescott) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 9th, 2021. She was born on November 6th, 1934 to parents Mabel (nee Hulbert) and Jack Prescott in Kalene Hill, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). She was the youngest of three girls and is predeceased by her sister Audrey Friedrich of Zimbabwe; survived by her sister Joyce Veitch of England.
She was born into a missionary family, trusted the Lord at a young age and served Him her whole life. In 1956, at the age of 21, Eileen married Donald Thomas Budge (1931-2010) and together they happily raised eight children in Zambia and in Canada. As a wife and mother, she was loving, patient, selfless, gentle, generous to a fault and in boundless faith she never gave up on anyone. Eileen is survived by children Heather (Robert), Rosemary (Don), Ian (Pam), Derek (Trudy), Stewart (Kymberly), Colin, Wendy (Paul) and Melanie. Beloved grandchildren are Michael (Nicole), Nathan (Emma), Ashley (predeceased), Kristen, Brittany, Kyle (Brittnay), Stephanie, Michelle, Zack, Travis, Dillon, Kody (Brittany), Lauren Eileen, Caleb and Julia. Great grandchildren are Autumn, Irelyn, Hannah, James, Logan, Aria, Evah and Kane.
Eileen leaves a rich legacy of Christian service including teaching in multiple children’s ministries, leading ladies’ Bible fellowships, faithfully playing the piano/organ in church for over 60 years, sharing the gospel, singing in choirs and as a soloist, decorating, acting as church secretary and leading missionary efforts. Aside from her family, missions were her greatest joy, as her heart’s desire was to see the lost saved and come to Christ. Over the decades she organized the sending of thousands of parcels to overseas missions. And like her beloved husband, she was a prayer warrior, not only praying for her family daily but praying for the Church and missionaries around the world.
Eileen will be dearly missed by friends, family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her, but she will be missed most of all by those blessed to call her Mum.
The Lord has called home His good and faithful servant, “Well Done”.
Private burial has taken place. Lord willing a celebration of life ceremony will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Missionary Service Committee through Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia (705)327-0221.
