Edwin Mark Smorong
August 14, 1944 – July 6, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edwin Mark Smorong at the Nanaimo Hospital, at the age of 76 years.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Edna, daughter Dawn, son Matthew, grandchildren Tessa and Nate, sister Roberta, sisters-in-law Myrna and Janice and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Robert and Nellie.
Dad was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Elma, Manitoba. Mom and Dad were married in 1970 and spent many years in Falcon Beach, Manitoba and Kenora, Ontario. They moved to Nanaimo, BC in 2007 for their retirement.
Dad loved working on the golf course at Falcon and enjoyed work at the water treatment plant in Kenora. He spent many years curling and golfing and enjoyed the competitive spirit of both sports. Dad loved being out in nature and was an avid fisherman.
No service by request. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
