Obituary of Edward Nelson Mroz
JULY 7, 1935 – NOVEMBER 5, 2021
EDWARD NELSON MROZ
Sadly, we announce the passing of our Dad and Grandfather, Edward Nelson Mroz, on November 5, 2021, at Markham Stouffville Hospital, at the age of 86.
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Danielle (Paul) Fraser, Tim Mroz, Krista (Jeff) Halmos and Tracy Mroz; grandchildren: Scott, Luke and Michaela Fraser; Danny, Eric and Ali Mroz; and Jillian and Isabelle Halmos; his brother Gary (Audrey) Mroz, sister Valerie Lupal and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Ed was predeceased by his wife Edmee (nee Coulombe), and his parents Edward and Anastasia “Nellie” Mroz.
Ed was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In his youth he was very athletic, excelling in all sports including a sweep of his school Field Day in grade 11. He grew up in various farming towns, including Brokenhead, River Hills and Lac du Bonnet, until he left home for St. Paul’s College at the age of 16. He graduated from University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science – Civil Engineering in 1958 and spent many years working in Toronto for Proctor & Redfern and as a consultant before retiring in 2011. Ed was an avid golfer and a member of York Downs Golf Club, Unionville for over 40 years. He also enjoyed curling at Tam Heather Curling & Tennis Club, loved animals and experienced great joy in the accomplishments of his eight grandchildren. The family would like to extend our appreciation and love to Jean Newberry for the friendship she shared with our Dad.
Due to Ed’s wishes, cremation will take place and no service will be held. Donations can be made to the Toronto Humane Society or the Ontario SPCA.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Edward
