It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Norman Lowe on 4 November 2021.
Edward was born on 28 July 1946 in Quebec City, Quebec. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Dorothy (nee Read) Lowe and sister Myrna (Foster) Sherren; and survived by his loving sister Debra Anne.
Edward was the beloved husband to Gisela (nee Krallmann), cherished father to Joanne (Maurice) Campbell, Barbara Booker and Jennifer Lowe. Adored Papa to Megan, Dylan, Andrew, Tyler, Sarah, Jessica, Ethan and great Papa to Zander. He will be missed by sister-in-law Ursula (late Lance) Camp, his nieces Diane (Joseph) Park, Tammy (Dave) and nephews Danny (Melissa) Camp, Gary (Deborah) Sherren, predeceased by Brad Sherren; and many great nieces and nephews.
Edward proudly served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces, Regular Force from July 1963 to November 1990. He then went on to serve in the Reserve Force until January 2003.
His true passion was fishing and hunting, and spending considerable time at the Base Wood Hobby Club. He will be missed by his closest friends, Sam and June Allen, John Chartrand and members of the Beaver Meadow Hunt Camp.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Pembroke Regional Hospital for showing compassion and kindness in Edward’s last days.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 15th , 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at The Murphy Funeral Home and Chapel, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke, Ontario. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
At The Request of the Family, Proof of Vaccination is required for attending the Funeral.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Ottawa Chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
