Obituary of Edmond Barrette
After several years of declining health, Ed passed away at The Waterford Grand Retirement Residence at the age of 85. Predeceased by his wife Kay Barrette (2002), and siblings, Nan, Lorne, Anita, Doreen, and Marguerite. Survived by brother Raymond. Loving father of Dara Legault (Dr. Paul Legault) and Paul Barrette (Charmion Renwick-Barrette). Grandpa to Jade, Keva and Zack Legault and Rohnin Barrette. A man of few words but a constant caring presence, Ed had a dry sense of humour and a mind for strategizing numbers. He was an avid sports fan, lover of family dinners and sweet desserts, never refusing an offer of a game of crib. It was a ‘good’ game provided he was the winner, which was almost all of the time! Ed loved heading south each winter and will be seeking a sunny Florida beach on which to rest.
As per Ed’s request, there will be no Funeral Service. A private family graveside service will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery.Memorial donations can be made to Carefor Ottawa
