Earle’s Obituary
Earle Guertin, age 90, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021.
Born in High River, Alberta February 20, 1931 Earle received his early education in Turner Valley. He would complete his Education degree at the University of Alberta and took his first teaching position in Whitelaw in 1954. After they were married, Bonnie and Earle would spend summers in Seattle where Earle pursued his Masters degree in Education.
He married his Bonnie (Madden) on July 2, 1956 and remained in the Peace River country where he taught at both Fairview High School and St. Thomas More with a small stint in Grande Prairie at St. Joe’s.
An active community builder, teacher, coach, athlete, musician, son, brother, loving husband and father, Earle is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Bonnie; son, Blaine (Vilma); grandson, Devin (Phoebe); great grandson, Theodore; daughter, Yvonne; grandchildren, Chelsea; great granddaughter, Akasha; Ayesha, and Adam; as well as his brother, Tony (Elaine) numerous nieces and nephews, very special cousins, Frankie and Lavina and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Keith Sr. and Alma Guertin and his brother, Keith Jr.
Earle’s family would like to thank the staff of Harvest Lodge, the Homecare staff, the staff of Fairview Hospital, the staff of Fairview Long Term Care and Dr.’s Andreiuk for the compassion, care and attention Dad received.
It takes a village and, while Dad was so proud of where he came, from he made Fairview his home.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later time. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the provincial NDP or The Alberta Teachers’ Association Educational Trust.
