Duncan Alexander McGee 19352021

Duncan Alexander McGee
1935-2021
Duncan Alexander McGee 86, of Lakeville-Westmorland County,
NB passed away peacefully, in his home on September 23,
2021
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Duncan spent 42 years as a
customer service clerk with the Canadian National Railway.
He enjoyed his daily drives to his old stomping grounds at The Pointe
Du Chene Wharf. He loved to swim, play pool, bowl and also
enjoyed his poker nights out with his brothers, as well as his penny
poker nights with his children and grandchildren. But, the
most important thing to Duncan, was his family. Duncan was a
man of very few words, but you always felt loved and protected knowing
you had “The Gentle Giant” awaiting with arms wide open to
help guide you through life.
Duncan was predeceased by his father, Daniel, his mother
Jessie (Shea) and his sister Dorothy.
Duncan is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Estelle,
his son Kenneth of Dunlop, NB; daughter Catherine (Larry) Doiron of
Moncton, NB, daughter Colleen MacLeod (Gary Squires) of
Lakeville-Westmorland County, NB; his grandchildren Erica, Brennan,
Kelsey, Michaila and Tristan, as well as his great grandchildren Derek
and Hannah. Duncan is also survived by his brother Daniel
(Marie) of Moncton, NB, brother Ken (Pat) of Edmonton, AB, sister
Doris of Drayton Valley, AB, brother Patrick Michael of Vancouver, BC,
and brother Norman “Joe” (Doreen) of Moncton, NB.
He is also survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured
friends who were just like family. He is also survived by
his cherished Granddog, Gracie, who always greeted him each morning
with a wigglebutt dance, and was never far from his bedside while he
was ill. Duncan cherished his family and was a true
gentleman to all that knew him.
As per Duncan’s wishes, there will be no
viewing. Cremation has taken place at Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(869-2007). A Catholic mass will be held at St.
Bernard’s Church, 43 Botsford St., Moncton on Tuesday,
September 28, 2021 at 11:00 am. Due to current Covid
restrictions masks, proof of double vaccinations and a photo ID will
be required upon entering the church. In lieu of flowers,
donations to The New Brunswick Autism Society or a charity of the
donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
