Hall, Doris Eve, age 80 of Halifax
Passed away peacefully Friday October 1, 2021 surrounded by the care of her loving family, after a courageous battle of Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Montreal Aug 19 1941, she was predeceased by her mother, Lila LaLancette.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Susan Bathurst, Darlene Bathurst (Bobby), and Jennifer Bathurst
Granddaughters; Jessica Lindsay, Julia Mendes, Samantha Lindsay and Simone Simmonds. Great-grandson, Jaeden.
From Montreal she moved to Chester Nova Scotia where she co-owned and ran McNeil Manor Bed & Breakfast.
Doris studied at Dalhousie University graduating from Costume Studies and Design.
She moved from Chester to Halifax and started a business called “The Wardrobe Mistress” designing costumes, formal dresses and working on many other sewing projects.
She was fluent in French, and obtained a job as a receptionist at CBC Halifax.
She lived in, and served on many committees with the Halifax Peninsula Housing Co-op for over 25 years.
She enjoyed giving advice to her dear friends or anyone who needed it. Loved riding her bike, baking and her many cats.
She was an avid gardener and loved having get-togethers in her backyard.
Doris had a big smile with an amazing laugh and a special personality. She will be missed, especially by her daughter Jennifer, who cared for her during her illness for many years.
We would like to thank QE11 Palliative Care and Hospice Halifax for their exceptional loving and supportive care.
A private family remembrance will be held at a later date.
