It is with sorrowful hearts that the family of Doreen Ellery announce her passing at Breton Care Centre, on October 27, 2021, at the age of 89 years.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dave and her children; Michael (Carol), Glen (Vi), Colleen, Robert and Karen. Also left to mourn Doreen’s passing are her ten grandchildren: Meghan, Stephen, Scott, Caitlin, Jackson, Spencer, Stacy, Angie, Stephenie and Nick as well as 10 great grandchildren. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Fred Correll and son-in-laws, Grant in 1987 and John in 2006.
Doreen married Dave in October of 1953. They shared a love of road trips that took them to many sites across the country. Doreen worked at the Drayton Valley Library and taught Sunday School at the Drayton Valley United Church for many years. She appreciated music of all genres, her flower garden and everyone loved her famous chocolate chip cookies.
The family would like to thank the staff at Breton Care Centre for all their care and thoughts throughout this very difficult time. Your kindness will never be forgotten. At Doreen’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
